I am a Chartered Town Planner with 20 years’ experience working in both the public and private sectors.

I graduated in Spatial Planning from Oxford Brookes University. An interest in the built environment and desire to help shape interesting and sustainable places for people to live and work, led me to become a planner.

My planning experience ranges from Project Managing applications for residential and commercial development of various sizes, to identifying development potential for clients’ land and promoting it through the Local Plan process to Examination in Public. Having worked for two Local Authorities in Oxfordshire, I have a broad and in-depth knowledge of the Oxfordshire and Thames Valley areas.

As well as working with landowners and House Builders, I have also worked with public sector bodies including the Airports Commission, Department for Transport and various charities.

Planning is a challenging mix of quality design, consideration of historic, landscape and environmental impacts and probably now more than ever, the economic benefit. That’s what gets me up in the morning!

For the future of planning, I see a need for quicker and more sustainable ways of building and developing, a robust review of Green Belt policy and a return to Regional Planning (please!)

When I’m not planning, I enjoy going to the cinema and eating out with friends and even though I’m probably old enough to know better, I still love going to loud and lively gigs!
