Your Invitation

On Thursday 13th October in Nottingham, we’d like to invite you to Breakfast with the Planners a free event which has been carefully designed to provide attendees with both a beneficial CPD session and business opportunities associated around the planning system. For this event, we are kindly joined by Emily Christie who is Head of Planning for ilke Homes, a house builder who is leading the way in volumetric sustainable housing.

It would be great to see some familiar and new faces at the event, so come and join us for breakfast and an informative morning focused on the planning system.  If you’d like to book to attend please contact us as soon as possible as places are limited!

Key aspects to be covered at the breakfast seminar are:

  • What is happening in the day-to-day world of planning across the UK including, resourcing in LPA’s, local politics, and elections, levelling up, joint authority – impact on progress and policy. The National Planning Agenda – new PM, new agenda; nitrate neutrality; BNG; sustainable buildings.
  • Our guest speaker, Emily Christie will be covering the development and evolution of sustainable housing and the future of modular construction. ilke Homes build homes that exceed minimum environmental standards and provide customers with the option to deliver to the highest levels of sustainability. Sustainability is one of the core reasons for the business. They build homes and developments that deliver improved environmental, economic and social outcomes against all 17 of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Through offsite manufacturing they deliver significant advantages over traditional construction.
  • We will then be reviewing recent key appeal decisions; what they tell us about decision making, balance and weighting. Benefits vs harms a critical part of the decision-making process of planning.
  • Finally, we will cover the importance of engagement in plans and policy – in planning, balance policy remains king. The importance of shaping and influencing policy and allocations in client and delivery interest. Through up to date research, we will update on local plan progress and 5YHLS within the East Midlands.
