Your Invitation

The event is free and has been carefully designed to provide attendees with both a beneficial CPD session and business opportunities associated around the planning system.

Key aspects to be covered during the seminar include:

Loughborough University

Welcome speech by Professor Malcolm Cook, Dean of the School of Architecture, Building and Civil Engineering.

Introduction by Graham Howard, Director of Estates and Facilities Management at the Loughborough and London campuses, with insights into the campus planning strategy and developments at Loughborough University.

P&DG Team

P&DG’s practical experience with the recently updated National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) on Local Plan making, site promotion, planning applications, and processes. We will also discuss the implications for the development and construction industry. What do the changes mean to business? What actions could you be taking to deal with the changes?

Guest Speaker

“What is RAAC, and should we be worried about it?”  We are very fortunate to be holding this event at Loughborough University and being joined by our guest speaker, Professor Chris Goodier. Concrete or RAAC (Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete) has been in the news like never before, with the non-opening of 100s of schools in August and more recently with it being found in 500 homes in Aberdeen. Professor Chris Goodier, the UK’s leading academic on RAAC, will explain what it is, where it is, and whether we should be worried about it now and in the future (see below for information about our guest speaker).

P&DG Team

Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) – what has happened, what you need to do, current commercial implications, and approaches for dealing with BNG.

P&DG Team

And, finally, we will provide a general planning update, covering aspects that may be currently under the radar but have implications for projects and business planning.
