London office secures Certificate of Lawfulness for unrestricted retail consent on 'bulky goods' DIY depot in Leyton

Our London office has obtained a Lawful Development Certificate for an existing DIY superstore enabling unrestricted retail use. The original planning conditions on the building sought to restrict the use to the sale of bulky goods only. Following a review of recent case law, P&DG established that the wording of the original condition did not prevent the operation of an unrestricted retail use from the site. The Council accepted our case and the potential for a discount supermarket to operate from the site has now been established along with an uplift in land value.
